Current Research Projects

  • To study the effects of ethanol and abused drugs on the function of neurotransmitter receptors in central sympathetic neurons and central autonomic output.
  • To study the regulation of the activities of spinal neurons by neuropeptides or xenobiotics in rats

  • Whole cell patch recording in spinal cord slices
  • Blood pressure and heart rate recording in anesthetized rat
  • Blood pressure and heart rat recording in free moving rat by radiotelemetric method
  • Intracerebroventricular (ICV) and intrathecal implantations and injections.

  • Determination of pain in rats by tail-flick test, hot plate tests, paw pressure meter and incapacitance meter
  • Determination of drug-induced incoordination by rota-rods test
  • In vivo microdialysis techniques in brain area
